Men's Basketball Selected Fourth in ECC Preseason Poll
West Babylon, N.Y. – The LIU Post men's basketball team finished fourth in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Basketball Preseason Poll, which was released by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Last season the Pioneers posted a 10-18 overall record and a 9-9 conference mark narrowly missing out on a playoff berth. Fifth-year head coach
Erik Smiles leads a side that returns 11 players, including guard
Aary Bibens who averaged 8.3 points-per-game and 4 rebounds-per-game. The Bennington, Vt. native ranked third on the team in three-point field-goal percentage (.458) and fourth in three-point field goals made (33).
St. Thomas Aquinas, the defending conference champion, was unanimously chosen to finish first, collecting 100 points and 10 first-place votes. Bridgeport slotted in at #2 with 83 points. The Pioneers trailed Daemen, who tied for second, with 83 points as well.

LIU Post kicks off its season on Friday, November 10, when they travel to Wilmington, Del for the Wilmington Tip-Off Classic, where they will play the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia at 6 p.m. The Pioneers open their ECC campaign at home against Bridgeport on Wednesday, December 6. Tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
