LIU Post Spirit to Host Spirit Day, Fall Prep Class Sept. 22 and 23

BROOKVILLE, N.Y.  - The LIU Post Cheerleading and Dance Teams are joining together to host their Fall 2018 Spirit Day on Saturday, Sept. 22 and Fall Prep Class on Sunday, Sept. 23. The events will be held at the Pratt Recreation Center on the campus of LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y.
 
The Spirit Day is open to cheerleaders and dancers ages 5-14 of any experience level. The cost for Spirit Day is $40 per person and includes three hours of skills clinic, lunch, an LIU Post Spirit Squad t-shirt, and the opportunity to perform at the Pioneer football game against Bentley University at 1:00 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
 
Participants are asked to arrive for registration at 8:45 a.m. and wear black shorts and a plain white tee-shirt.
 
The clinic participants will be taught sideline cheers and dances to perform at game time, along with learning technique to perform current skills and strive towards new skills. They will be learning basic technique in motions, jumps, low-level tumbling, low-level stunting for game-day cheerleading and dancing.
  
The fall prep class is open to all high school and current collegiate cheerleaders and dancers. The purpose of the class is to give prospective members insight to what it takes to be a member of the LIU Post Spirit Squads. It also provides the opportunity to become familiar with the program's style and the chance to ask coaches Tiffany Farrell and Skylar Byram, along with the team's captains and members, questions prior to try outs in the spring.
 
Check in will be from 10:15 – 10:30 and the class will end at 1:15pm.
 
At the conclusion of the class there will be a campus tour for all participants and family members interested in learning more about the university.
 
The cost for each participant is $20, which includes a three-hour skills prep class and a LIU Post Spirit Squad t-shirt.
 
Please bring payment in the form of cash or check with you on the day of for both events. Checks can be made out to LIU Post.

What to wear – Fitted athletic tank, sports bra, spandex, fitted athletic shorts (girls); fitted athletic t-shirt and shorts (guys)
Hair – Up and out of your face (girls); Clean shaven (guys)
Makeup – Gameday ready
What to bring – Cheer shoes, water bottle, snack, tape
