POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. –
The LIU Post men's & women's cross country team opened the 2018 season Saturday at the Marist Invitational at Vassar Farm.

Participating teams included Marist College, Iona College, Siena College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent; the Pioneer women finished first in the non-Division I group scoring 126 points.

Competing in the 5000-meter run freshman Anita Mikowski clocked in at 20:28.8 seconds to finish first among non-Division I runners. Nicolette Agostinacchio took second among non-Division I runners with a time of 21:10.1 while freshman Margaret McKeever narrowly trailed her crossing the finish line time of 21:10.3 to take third in her category. Other members of the green & gold to compete were senior Kathryn Elnick  (22:09.2), senior Kaitie Schillachi  (22:17.6), junior Alexandria Okon (22:48.1) and freshman Madison Dubose (26.02).

On the men's side in the 6000-meter run, sophomore Joe Dorso finished first in the non-Division I category after crossing the line in a career-best time of 22:15.4. Senior John Dehler and sophomore Andrew Gleave finished second and third in the non-Division I group with times of 22:45.1 and 22:55.9.
