STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Freshman
Imoniri Aghomon of the LIU Post women' track & field team began 2019 on a high note as she set a new program record in the weight throw as the Pioneers opened the calendar year at the Wagner College Invitational inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex Friday afternoon.
Aghomon's program-best mark of 48'9.5" in the weight throw saw her finish second in the event. Junior
Alexandria Okon also had a successful day as she finished fourth in the 500-meter run in 1:17.73 seconds and posted a 59.3 split in the 1600-meter relay.
With leaps of 34'1.5" and 16'3.75", sophomore
Kelly Holownia finished fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump. Sophomore
Kayra Theodore posted a mark of 33'10.75" in the triple jump to take sixth.
On the men's side, sophomore
Destyn Harding finished fifth in the 60-meter dash in 6.98 and won his heat in the 200-meters with a time of 22.72. Freshman
DeAndre Smith took third in the high jump after clearing 6'4" and fifth in the long jump after a 21'3.50" leap. Sophomore
Michael Krebs won his heat of the 200-meters in 24.02 while sophomore
Jeffrey Reyes took first in his heat of the 500-meter run with a time of 1:10.08 seconds.
