BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Following two wins last week, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team stayed stagnant in the national polls for week eight, remaining ranked No. 5 and 7 as announced during the national release on Monday.
The Pioneers maintain their No. 5 ranking in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and No. 7 spot in the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine rankings.
LIU Post opened the week in non-conference play in the Garden State, taking down Georgian Court University by a 19-6 final. The Green and Gold continued to roll in conference play with a 17-7 triumph against Molloy College over the weekend. Freshman
Jake Gillis led the Pioneers with 11 goals and five assists. Sophomore
William Snelders added eight goals and three helpers to lead the offensive attack, while senior
Connor Farrell finished 43-for-46 at the faceoff X, collecting a team-best 39 ground balls. Classmate
Bryan Ochs picked up two wins between the pipes, making 18 saves while allowing just 10 goals.
The Pioneers return to non-conference play on Tuesday, April 2 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium when they play host to Wilmington (Del.) University at 3:30 p.m.
