BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – A balanced attack that featured goals from 13 different members of the No. 5/7 LIU Post men's lacrosse team led the Pioneers to a 23-2 victory over Wilmington University in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
With four goals on the afternoon, sophomore WIlliam Snelders tallied his 100th career goal in just 26 career games. Snelders matched redshirt-junior
Thomas Liantonio for the team-high in scoring.
The Pioneer offense began the game red-hot, as Liantonio scored the game's first goal with 14:04 on the clock. The Pioneers tallied four goals inside the opening five minutes, with three coming off the stick of Liantonio. While Wilmington managed to find the back of the cage on one occasion, LIU Post ended the first quarter with a 10-1 advantage.
The Wildcats could not claw their way back into the game during the second quarter as the Pioneers held them scoreless. Junior

Taking a 19-1 advantage into the final quarter, freshman
Doug Chase scored with 10:58 and 9:49 on the clock to give the Pioneers a 21-1 lead. Just 11 seconds after, sophomore
Dalton Chea scored his first career goal to make it a 22-1 game and while both teams would add one more goal, the Pioneers held on for the 23-2 victory.

Connor Farrell turned in another dominant performance at the faceoff X, going a perfect 16-for-16 on faceoffs and leading the game in ground balls with 14. Farrell also tied for the game-high in assists with two. Russell, senior

Jake Gillis finished with two assists apiece to tie the game-high. Senior
Bryan Ochs had five saves and earned the win while freshman
John Ruddick tallied a career-high six saves.
The Pioneers will return to East Coast Conference (ECC) action on Saturday, April 6 against the University of the District of Columbia (4-4, 0-2) at 1:00 p.m. at the UDC Soccer Field.
