RESULTS
FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The LIU Post women's golf team continued its spring season with a third-place finish at the Kutztown Spring Invitational on Sunday, April 7 at Moselem Springs G.C.
The Pioneers placed third out of four competing teams. West Chester University took the team title by 38 strokes over the host Golden Bears with a score of 328. The Pioneers posted a score of 374, matching their total at the Hofstra Invitational for second-lowest count of the spring. East Stroudsburg University also competed with three individual golfers at the event.
Senior
Abby Snidemiller led the Pioneers with a fifth-place finish individually, firing a round of 85, her second-lowest of the season. Junior
Shannon Fox and senior
Natalia Schaefer finished tied for 14th with rounds of 96, while junior
Claire Pohalski rounded out the team scoring with a 97. Senior
Marissa Bennett finished just behind with a 98, while sophomore
Clare Alaimo posted a 113 as an individual.
Snidemiller had an outstanding start to her day, recording a par on the first three holes en route to a four-over par 39. The senior tallied seven total pars on the front nine, recording just two double bogies for her only blemishes. Despite struggling slightly on the back-nine, Snidemiller carded two pars to post the 85.
Fox made par on holes seven and eight to post a 10-over par 45 on her front nine and Schaefer added pars on holes four and five. Bennett also tallied two pars on the day, making par on holes three and 16.
The Pioneers return to action for a two-day event at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at Penn Oaks G.C. hosted by West Chester University on April 8 and 9.
