TOWSON, Md. – The LIU Post men's & women's track & field teams competed at the Towson University Invitational at Johnny Unitas Stadium Saturday, a meet that was highlighted by sophomore
Alyssa Farrell placing second in the javelin against a field consisting of primarily NCAA Division I competition.
The Pioneer women finished 10
th out of 19 teams and were led by Farrell who placed second in the javelin (39.50 meters) and 13
th in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 42.01 meters.
Junior
Alexandria Okon finished fifth in the 800-meters (2:15.13) and set a personal-best time of 57.8 in her leg of the 1600-meter relay. Freshman
Margaret McKeever finished fifth in the steeplechase (12.29.06) while junior
Nicole Costanzo and sophomore
Kayra Theodore cleared 1.50 meters in the high jump.
Senior Kaitie Schillachi posted a season-best time of 2:27.59 seconds in the 800 meters while the team of sophomore
Nataly Ramirez, Okon, McKeever and junior
Nicolette Agostinacchio finished seventh in the 4x400 meters with a time of 4:06.10 seconds.
On the men's side, sophomore
Destyn Harding advanced to the final of the 100 meters after posting a season-best time of 10.99 while also earning a season-best in the 200 meters, 22.65.
Freshman
Ismail Abdullah placed fifth in the 100 hurdles after posting a time of 15.56 in the prelim. Freshman
Robert Skidmore's mark of 37.10 in the hammer throw was also a personal best.
