IWLCA RELEASE
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach's Association (IWLCA) announced its all-region honorees Thursday afternoon and three members of the LIU Post women's lacrosse team garnered recognition.
Juniors
Brianna Feldman and
Alyssa Mallery were named to the All-East Region First Team while junior
Paige Sherlock earned second-team honors.
All three earn all-region honors for the second-consecutive year as Feldman and Mallery were named to the first team and Sherlock the second team in 2018.
Mallery, who was also named East Coast Conference (ECC) All-Conference First Team, finished second in the conference in goals with 83 and second in draw controls with 118. Her 90 points ranked third and her 52 ground balls fourth. She also led the conference in free position shots after going 30-of-48. Mallery tallied the 200th point of her career in the Pioneers' 19-12 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday, April 30 2019 in the opening round of the ECC Tournament.
Feldman was also an ECC All-Conference First Team honoree and tallied 67 goals during the season, the fourth-highest in the conference. Her 79 points were fifth and her 12 assists ranked eighteenth. She recorded her 100th career goal in LIU Post's 21-20 victory over the University of New Haven on Tuesday, April 16.
Sherlock, another of the Pioneers' ECC All-Conference First Team honorees, finished fifth in the ECC in caused turnovers with 30. Her seven 49 goals rank eighth, her 56 draw controls tenth and her 36 ground balls 14th. In the opening round of the NCAA Championship against Adelphy University on Friday, May 10 she scored the 100th goal of her career.
