RESULTS
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The LIU Post men's & women's track & field teams resumed competition Friday at the Metropolitan Championships inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Along with the New York Institute of Technology, the Pioneers were the only other NCAA Division II program competing out of 15 teams. On the women's side, LIU placed 11
th and saw several strong performances throughout the meet.
Junior
Alexandria Okon finished fourth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:18.56 seconds. Senior Kaitie Schillachi clocked in at 3:09.69 seconds in the 1000-meters, a six-second personal best, to finish eighth overall and fourth in the championship heat.

Nicole Costanzo cleared 1.50 meters in the high jump to finish fifth while sophomore
Kayra Theodore cleared 1.50 meters to tie for sixth. Sophomore
Kelly Holownia's mark of 34'11.75'' in the triple jump saw her finish eighth while junior
Kaitlyn Klein qualified for the finals in the shot put with a mark of 40'0.75''.

Nicolette Agostinacchio, Schillachi and Okon finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 1:09.92 seconds.

Imoniri Aghomon performed strongly in the weight throw with distances of 45'3.75'' and 45'1'' respectively. Sophomore
Kathryn Ginty had a personal-best in the 60-meters after crossing the line at 8.34 and also had a season-best time of 27.62 in the 200-meters. Freshman
Cara Pouletsos' time of 1:09.92 seconds in the 400-meters was a personal-best and Ramirez also clocked in at 1:20.76 seconds in the 500-meters to finish 19th.
On a day that saw the Pioneer men plagued by injuries to several key performers, highlights included freshman
Troy Benson clocking in at a personal-best time of 53.69 in the 400-meters and freshman
Robert Skidmore clearing 37'7.75'' in the shot put.
